Principal

Charles J. Frandsen, AIA is the founder and president of Frandsen Architects, PC. He established the firm in downtown Lawrenceville in 1992 and has been located in the downtown region since inception. Charles has over 37 years of experience practicing architecture throughout the United States. He received his architectural degree from the Southern College of Technology. Charles possesses extensive knowledge in healthcare design and construction. Along with EJCH, Charles has developed a myriad of design solutions at hospitals across Georgia.

Associate Principal

Erik C. Frandsen possesses a professional degree of Architecture from Southern Polytechnic State University and uses the latest Virtual Design & Construction / Building Information Modeling (VDC/BIM) and visualization technologies to communicate design. Erik excels in digital modelling and increases efficiency by eliminating coordination issues before construction begins. Erik thrives in the creative design process with team members and creates strong relationships that develop into the future professionally and personally.

Erik Hotton joined Frandsen Architects in September 2019 after serving as the Georgia State Architect for the Department of Community Health for over 26 years. Before becoming the State Architect, Erik served approximately 3 years as a fire safety engineer for the Georgia State Fire Marshal’s office and worked with CDH partners in Marietta, Georgia on numerous healthcare projects. Erik graduated from Southern Technical Institute (currently Kennesaw State University) in 1983 with an Architectural Engineering Technology degree and obtained his license as a Georgia registered Architect in 1991.

Brittany A. Cencula

Lead Interior Designer

Brittany Cencula began her career in interior design with Frandsen Architects, P.C. in 2012 after graduating Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor of fine arts degree in interior design from the University of Georgia Lamar Dodd School of Art. She strives to create functional and inviting spaces from a foundation of creativity, forward-thinking, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of individual end user needs. Brittany is involved with every aspect of the design process including spatial planning, color and material selection, lighting specification, mill work design, furniture fixtures and equipment management, and design documentation.
